Autumn Equinox- A Time To Connect On A Deeper Level

This is a season of transition, so make sure that you prepare yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Have you been dreading the upcoming months because the weather will visibly change? Don't worry most of us that live in the Northeast part of the United States do. But it's important to change your mindset because we ALL need the seasons to make changes in our life to grow. God knows I love the summer and will miss it dearly (bye, bye beach dates with my family), but alas, we must move on.

Now is the perfect time to deep clean... and I'm not just talking about closets. Remove the things that do not serve you or your purpose. Its those diversions that can defer you from achieving your purpose.

It's officially autumn. Yes the smell of cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin are fragrant the air... but it doesn't stop there. Many of us do not prepare for the change of seasons and it wreaks havoc in our lives one way or the other.

This is a meaningful time to honor the harvest.

I remember as a kid, the old folks used to say "reap what you sow" and I never truly understood what that meant on a deeper level until I got older. With using this parallel, it's a meaningful time of year to honor the harvest. Whether that be a "real" harvest of the things planted in your garden or the harvest of efforts and intentions for your life path that you set earlier in the year. Beloved *in my Iyanla Vanzant voice*, we must make the transition in order to be a better version of ourselves.

You may be thinking "what is an equinox?" Well, the word “equinox” is derived from the Latin language and it means “equal night,” referring to the roughly 12-hour day and 12-hour night that occurs only on the two equinox days of the year. With that in mind, we must honor the balance and interaction of the light and the dark, and ultimately, we should acknowledge the changes that come with the passing of time. As we consciously link our awareness to the cycles of Nature, our understanding of our own cycles begin to deepen.

Spiritually speaking, fall represents the Harvest time of year, a time to acknowledge growth and expansion as a natural evolution of being. Our lives go through cycles of growth, harvest, death, and rebirth just as we see in nature.

On the Fall Equinox, you may want to honor all that you have in your life and shift your consciousness from one of lack to one of prosperity and gratitude. If you follow my personal Instagram handle @gmoney_cmb, the first thing you will see is the word "gratitude" in my bio. As long as I am on this earth, my goal is to spread love and light, and with the upcoming season changes, I will be more cognizant of bearing the fruit from the purpose that has cultivated in my heart.

You may be thinking "ok girl – this is a little too deep for me." Perhaps, but you must recognize the shift that is taking place all around us. A quote that I often use by a street poet named Dwight Grant (mostly recognized by the name Beanie Sigel) states, you either get down or lay down.

So, welcome to the Autumn season and lets focus on the impending harvest of the year’s hard work toward a better you. What are some key things you will be working towards during this time?
